The 2025 Sydney Lunar New Year Festival Dragon Boat Festival will take place from 7 February to 9 February 2025. 

Information on the race schedule is yet to be confirmed by DBNSW. Preliminary information released at the start of the season suggested that:

• corporate racing will take place on the Friday evening
• club racing will take place on the Saturday and Sunday
• Saturday is likely to be premier racing and Sunday is likely to be Senior racing

RSVPs are required by 21 December 2024 at the very latest. 

Note that your RSVP confirms your availability for both Saturday and Sunday, with the relevant day/s of racing to be confirmed.

Important Note:

DBNSW Qualifying Criteria for this regatta requires clubs to have participated in the entering category in at least 2 DBNSW accredited/sanctioned regattas prior to the event. Therefore in fairness to all club members, you must have raced with Different Strokes in at least two (2) of the four (4) DBNSW organised races to qualify to race at Lunar New Year. Valid DBNSW organised races include:

• DBNSW Regatta Series - Round 1 - Sun 13 Oct 2024
• DBNSW Regatta Series - Round 2 - Sun 24 Nov 2024
• DBNSW Regatta Series - Round 3 - Sun 15 Dec 2024
• DBNSW Regatta Series - Round 4 - Sun 19 Jan 2025

NB: brand new members this season that join after the cut-off for Round 3 may be able to qualify to race at Lunar New Year if they race at DBNSW Regatta Series - Round 4 and demonstrate commitment through attendance at training. This will be on a case by case basis only.
