RACE LIKE A DRAGON, DANCE LIKE A BEE

Different Strokes Dragon Boat Club works hard together like a hive of bees to bring victory to our club.

Whilst collecting nectar bees dance to communicate with their hive - we have chosen to communicate the joy we feel in our teamwork by dancing down Oxford Street.

LGBTQIA+ acceptance in community sport means that we are all free to be champions.  Our diversity of inclusion inspires passion that can only come from the freedom to be fiercely and triumphantly yourself.

Our team spirit is portrayed by our Queen Bee who rides before us, inviting everyone to join our celebration of self.

Get Involved!

Want to join the Different Strokes Mardi Gras 2025 community?

Tickets will be available to Different Strokes members, friends and family and then other dragon boat clubs staring November 2024.

Members can take advantage of our early bird prices for the first 5 days.

Don't want to dance?

Parades are a fantastic way to celebrate, and not everyone has to dance to be a part of the excitement! Walking participants play a crucial role too, offering a different kind of energy and presence. Please let us know in your ticket purchase if you have a preference to be a walking participant.

We are looking for a queen bee for our float. Please indicate in your ticket purchase if you would like to be our queen bee.

Most of the costume will be provided as part of your registration fee. Some costume elements may need to be purchased separately (e.g. shorts, shoes). More information will be provided to participants in early 2025.
