*** EVENT CANCELLED ***
Kick off the new season with the 10s Winter Warmer at Rodd Point Aquatic Club, Dobroyd on Sunday 23rd August 2020. Racing will be 10s racing over 200 m.
Please RSVP by midday Thursday 13th August at the very latest.
-------
Please note: DBNSW is making a number of modifications to ensure that everyone attending the event is as safe and comfortable as possible while also being compliant with NSW Health, State Government and Office of Sport restrictions and advice. These limitations and changes include....
- As per the NSW Health Order (1 July) a strict limit of 500 participants for the regatta will be in place. This includes paddlers, sweeps, drummers, volunteers, officials, staff and spectators.
- In the unlikely scenario where we identify that the event will exceed 500 people at any one time clubs may be asked to reduce their numbers or cuts may be made by DBNSW.
- Spectators are highly discouraged from attending where practical, only parents or carers.
- We request that anyone that has visited Victoria within 14 days of the regatta date (SUN 23 AUG) does not attend the event
- We request that anyone that was in COVID-19 case locations as reported by NSW Health within 14 days of the regatta date (SUN 23 AUG) does not attend the event
- While we originally planned for this event to be open to trialing members unfortunately we do not believe this regatta is best placed as a recruitment event, therefore participants must either a) have been a registered member during the 19/20 season or b) a current and financial member of the 20/21 season
On the day:
- Spectators that do attend MUST sign on to ensure their details are captured. Sign on sheet will be available at the finish line near the club house.
- During the event, while on land, all attendees must maintain a distance of 1.5m from each other
- All physical contact should be avoided at all times during the event in particular handshakes, hugging, high fives, pat on back, etc.
- Once an individual has finished their racing for the day they should leave the venue as soon as possible with everyone adopting the mantra "get in, race, get out"
- To minimize risk there will be no food or drink (incl. coffee) sold on site with attendees encouraged to bring their own
Equipment and Hygiene
- No equipment should be shared between attendees
- Clubs are asked to remind their members about hygiene standards and wash their hands frequently throughout the event
- Attendees are encouraged to bring their own PPE and sanitizers, DBNSW will provide volunteers and officials with masks, gloves and access to sanitiser
- Hand sanitser will be available at boat loading and at the finish line
- Clubs are permitted to bring marquees but these must not be walled and social distancing must still be observed inside the tent area
Racing:
- All usual categories are available for entry however a minimum of 4 crews per category will be required for that race to go ahead (junior divisions excepted)
- The regatta may be postponed/cancelled if entries are particularly low overall
- Depending on entries a variety of changes to the race program may be considered i.e. consolidation of categories, changes to the 2 heat + final format, etc. The final program will be confirmed closer to the regatta.
- Premier and Junior division racing will take place all together in the morning with the Senior divisions in the afternoon.
- There will be no marshaling. Teams must be attentive of the race program and go straight to their boats when their race is scheduled.
- Crews must load and unload themselves from the boats. Volunteers stationed at boat loading will strictly be responsible for santising boats, not assisting paddlers.
- There will be no breaks in the schedule
- The Team Briefing will be held online via Zoom at 7:00 pm Friday evening (21 Aug) before race day.
- As per the previous announcement there are no awards given out for the Winter Warmer or Regatta Series races therefore no presentations will be held
